In 1993, I graduated from Cal State University at Long Beach and UCLA with degrees in Music Composition and Film Scoring, and ventured into an award-winning, international career of scoring music for film, television and orchestras.
After much travel, I decided to return to my roots in Berkeley, California, and to turn another passion into a business. I started San Francisco Hang Gliding Center in 1996 and built a successful company with 8 instructors. We had an impeccable safety record over the 9-year period I owned and operated this business. I also invented a hang gliding machine capable of water landings, and started the first commercial Ultralight aviation business ever conducted over San Francisco Bay with FAA and U.S. Coast Guard approval! That company achieved the number 1 commercial hang gliding position on Google when I sold the business in 2005. If you search the words Hang Gliding on Google you will see the site I created www.sfhanggliding.com is still in 3rd position under Wikipedia hang gliding search and hanggliding.org
During this period, I married and started a family. With my new responsibilities, I decided to pursue a career that was more “grounded”. After consulting several trusted friends, I opened Kroll Realty in 2003 and sold my aviation businesses in 2005. I built Kroll Realty to over 25 agents in three years.
After seeing the need for a new real estate sales model, I investigated the real estate auction methodology and founded Statewide Real Estate Auctions Inc. in 2006, as a subsidiary to Kroll Realty. Our innovative hybrid sales model combines the best practices of traditional real estate brokering with modern auction methods. We have created a truly Unique Sales Process that cares for both Buyers and Sellers in a relaxed yet professional manner.
Today and in the future, time is a limited and highly valuable resource. Buyers do not have the time to “shop,” and sellers want to sell “now,” making our system ideal for today’s market. Time is money and market conditions are changing rapidly.
Our unique system has allowed us to prosper while large Franchise offices such as ReMax, Century 21 and Prudential within 1 mile of our corporate headquarters have closed their doors.
I am aggressively focused on building this business by surrounding myself with a team of talented and experienced people. I now reside in Berkeley with my beautiful wife, Hayley, and our two children.
In 2011 we began to really focus on growth through strategic partnerships, by providing our auction services to other real estate brokerages. We are now under contract with over 20 real estate offices to provide our unique services to their sellers under co-listing agreements.
